No small print.

The real questions before you trust your infrastructure to a managed provider, answered plainly. Nothing is claimed: everything that follows can be verified.

Where is my data hosted?

In Barcelona, on elstir's own infrastructure. We don't depend on the big cloud platforms (hyperscalers): your data never leaves Spain and is never tied to a third party's operations.

And it isn't just us saying so: our own RIPE Atlas probe measures our network continuously and publishes the result — 4 ms median latency, with 99.96% uptime. The data is public, produced by a third party, and anyone can check it live.

What certifications does the data centre hold?

The data centre where elstir hosts its infrastructure — the Econocom Nexica data centre, in Barcelona — holds ENS High (the highest level of the ENS, Spain's national security framework, the standard the Spanish public administration requires), ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 9001 (quality) and Cisco Powered.

We run our platform on that certified foundation, and on top we add what's ours: our own network (AS49008), continuous replication, verified backups and managed security.

Do you depend on the big cloud platforms (hyperscalers)?

elstir operates its own network: an autonomous system (AS49008) registered with RIPE — the official internet registry in Europe — our own /23 IPv4 address block and BGP routing, the protocol networks use to announce themselves to each other on the internet. The infrastructure is in Barcelona and the data stays in Spain.

That means we control the network end to end, with no intermediary between your business and your data.

What happens if my premises go down?

Your environment is continuously replicated to our Barcelona data centre, with an RPO (maximum data loss) of 5 minutes: in the worst case, the window of data at risk is measured in minutes, not hours.

If your premises go down, you start up from our data centre. And the replica isn't taken as good on paper: the recovery is verified.

How do you protect my backups against ransomware?

With air-gapped copies: because they're offline, ransomware that encrypts your network can't reach them. We follow the 3-2-1 rule — three copies, on two media, with one off-site — and we check that recovery works.

A backup that has never been tested isn't a backup: it's an assumption. That's why recovery is verified, not assumed.

How do you protect email and the network?

Email, with DMARC, SPF and DKIM authentication — the standards that stop anyone sending email posing as your domain — and a periodic DMARC report per domain; across the domains we manage, DMARC protection reaches between 95% and 100%. Workstations, with ESET and EDR/MDR capabilities (threat detection and response on every computer). The perimeter — the point where your network connects to the internet — with SonicWall firewalls managed by CSSA-certified engineers.

Do I get a single point of contact?

Yes. elstir is a single provider of cloud and IT in Barcelona: one point of contact for the data centre, the servers, the network, security and support. You don't have to coordinate several suppliers or work out whose problem each one is.

What is changing provider like? Will there be service interruptions?

Changing provider doesn't mean stopping your business. We audit the current environment first, plan the transition with a rollback procedure and set every interruption window with you, aiming for the slot your business will notice least. The old environment stays up until the new one replaces it and is verified.

How much does it cost? Is there a minimum contract term?

There's no minimum term: we don't do lock-in, and no contract obliges you to stay. And we don't publish a price here as a selling point, because the proposal adapts to each client, not the other way round.

If you ask for it, you get a fixed price in writing. House doctrine: nothing is claimed, everything is demonstrated.

What size of business do you work with?

We work with SMEs and with multi-site organisations. The approach adapts to the size and complexity of each case: there is no one-size-fits-all template, but a solution designed around what the initial audit reveals.

Do you only work in Barcelona?

Our infrastructure is in Barcelona, and we serve Barcelona and the rest of Spain. Keeping the data in Spain is part of the approach, and an advantage for your business, wherever you are.

Do you work with Kit Digital?

Yes. elstir is an accredited provider ("agente digitalizador") for Kit Digital, the Spanish grant scheme for the digitalisation of SMEs and the self-employed. We can support you with the solutions eligible for funding under the programme.

How do I contact you? Do you have a phone number?

By email, at info@elstir.com, and we're at c/ Aragón 141-143, 08015 Barcelona. You get a reply from the technical team that will later design and maintain your infrastructure, during business hours.

Email is our channel, and that's a deliberate choice: a first conversation in writing arrives with context and lets us understand your situation first time.

Shall we talk about your infrastructure?

An initial audit with no obligation. Tailored solutions, with a single point of contact who knows your business.
