How we measure: latency is full HTTP requests from your browser to our server in Barcelona (median of 12 samples; a pure ICMP ping would come in slightly lower). The phases come from your own browser's performance APIs. Your IP is what our server sees when it replies to you — nothing is logged or stored.

It's the reverse path (from our server to you): internet routing is asymmetric and the final stretch usually drops inside your carrier's network. So you see the networks along the way, not always your own last mile.
Every network on the path, placed by the real latency of its routers to the RIPE Atlas probes (the same network where ours lives), not by its registration. Approximate location: we only plot the networks that can be placed reliably; the rest stay in the list above, which is exact.

This map queries RIPE IPmap to place each router by latency and draws on CARTO maps: it's the only part of the diagnostic that reaches third parties. Everything else is measured right here.

You don't have to take our word for the health of our network: our own RIPE Atlas probe publishes it, measuring availability and latency around the clock — you can check it live. And our autonomous system is a public record: AS49008 on bgp.tools. The figures, in context, are on the infrastructure page.
